Ribbon cut on newly renovated library in Maynardville

A big donation is helping one East Tennessee school get a technology upgrade.

Horace Maynard Middle School in Maynardville cut the ribbon on its newly renovated library Saturday.

Donor Freddie Brasfield donated $50,000 to get new furniture, carpeting, and 30 new computers for the school.

Weather clears out Friday, but back by Sunday

The bad weather and snow that hit East Tennessee and Kentucky has moved out for the most part, with a high pressure system bringing plenty of sunshine. The temperatures will stay cool early today, but will rise throughout the day and into Saturday. Another cold front late Saturday into Sunday will bring more precipitation, either as rain or snow, much like what we saw Thursday night.

Round up of area road conditions

As East Tennessee and southern Kentucky woke up to a dusting of snow and a coat of ice on car windshields, area dispatchers shared with 10News reports of road conditions in their respective counties. A reminder, always use caution on the roads in cold conditions.
